Boston assistant general manager Don Sweeney will assist Rob Murray behind the bench tonight when the Providence Bruins play the Manchester Monarchs at The Dunk.

Sweeney will fill in for assistant coach Butch Cassidy.

Cassidy went back to Ottawa early this week for his mother's funeral. Cassidy could be back on Saturday, according to coach Rob Murray.

Winger Juraj Simek has left the P-Bruins to play in Geneva, Switzerland, Murray said.

Simek was acquired from the Tampa organization in December in exchange for Levi Nelson.

He arrived with the reputation as a scorer, but got nothing done in Providence.

Simek was pointless and minus-six in 11 games. He'd been a healthy scratch several times. His final game in Providence was last Friday against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Simek was born in Slovakia, but raised in Switzerland.

He will be suspended and his contract will be voided.

Matt Dalton starts in goal tonight.

The scratches will be Sean Zimmerman and Antoine Roussel.

The lines:

Caron-Hamill-Reich

MacDermid-Whitfield-MacDonald

Sauve-Colborne-Arniel

Smotherman-Ling-McGrattan
