The Boston Bruins recalled defenseman Andy Wozniewski from Providence after last night's 4-3 loss in Anaheim.

P-Bruins coach Rob Murray said this morning that he didn't know which, if any, of Boston's defensemen were injured against the Ducks. He received a text at 1:45 a.m., but hadn't spoken with anyone who is traveling with the Bruins.

The Bruins appeared to stick with their D rotation through the end of last night's game -- all six defensemen saw the ice in the last 10 minutes.

Dennis Wideman left the bench midway through the first period but returned soon after. Johnny Boychuk took a slap shot in the ribs 15 minutes into the second period, but didn't miss any time.

With the Bruins playing again tonight in San Jose, Wozniewski will spend a good part of the day traveling.

It's the second callup of the season for Wozniewski, who was selected for next week's AHL All-Star Game. He was scoreless in two games with Boston.

Wozniewski is second in scoring with Providence with a 7-20-27 lines in 38 games. He is minus-9.

Former Boston University star Kenny Roche of South Boston will be joining the P-Bruins today on a tryout contract. Roche, 26, is a 6-foot, 205-pound left wing. He has a 16-11-27 line in 33 games with Charlotte of the East Coast Hockey League.

Roche, a third-round pick of the Rangers in 2003, had 2 goals in 32 games with Lake Erie of the AHL in 2007-08 before playing in Germany last season.

Roche was a key player for the powerhouse St. Sebastian's teams that won back-to-back Division I New England prep school titles several years ago. Among his teammates at St. Seb's: Kevin Regan (Providence), Brian Boyle (Rangers), Mike Morris (San Jose first-round pick), Sean Sullivan (San Antonio/Phoenix), Noah Welch (Chicago Wolves), Joe Rooney (Boston College) and Doug Rogers (Harvard/Islanders draft pick).
